The Shawshank Redemption Sweding
When we made our sweding video of Shawshank Redemption we had to make sure we had the correct narrative where there was a clear beginning, middle and end. This meant that we had to also try to portray this through the use of editing as the different cuts would connote where the film was at in its narrative. Furthermore, mise-en-scene from the actors had to be correct in order to portray the different emotions and scenes of the film. This meant that our attempt at sweding the Shawshank film helped us mainly to understand the importance of narrative through different factors such as camera, editing, mise-en-scene and sound (diegetic and non-diegetic). This was a big help for our final thriller as when writing the script we as a group had more clarity in what was required to make a perfect narrative.
